FAQ
What is the difference between an open password and a permissions password?
The open password decides whether the file can be opened; the permissions password decides whether the permission settings can be changed. If you set only an open password, a random permissions password is generated automatically and the permissions can no longer be modified.
What if I forget the password?
An encrypted password cannot be recovered from the file itself, it can only be cracked. Try recovering it with the PDF decryption feature.
How strong is the encryption?
It uses the PDF standard RC4 128-bit encryption (R=3), which is compatible with Adobe Acrobat and virtually all PDF readers.
